This is truly disturbing. Hard to believe that this sort of thing is happening in a democracy. I wonder what our churches in the US would be like if this was happening here?

Here’s some thoughts from Francis Chan on this subject. The video quality is bad and it starts kind of weird, but just keep watching. Great stuff on an amazing family.

This was taken in October of 2008 as part of a video we were shooting for Watermark’s Parenting Conference.  I’m completely blown away by how much Abbie has changed since this was taken.

3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,

After Jesus’ crucifixion, Mary went back to the tomb to tend to his body.  When she did she ran into someone she thought was the gardener.  She had no idea who he was until he called her by name, “Mary.” It changed everything for her when he called her by name.

It’s easy to forget that these kids are real people and not just statistics.

This video makes me want to get to Ethiopia as fast as I can and get our boy.  Painful that I can’t.

Some people have asked us why we want to adopt a child from Ethiopia and whether or not we’re still considering it.  I think this video (actually of kids in Uganda, but close enough in this case) makes the point rather effectively. This originally screened on Francis Chan’s blog.
